Dr. Safa earned his degree from the American University of Beirut in Beirut, Lebanon and completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. He completed his Hematology and Oncology Fellowship at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center where he joined the staff and became the director of the GI Oncology Program and the Program Director of the Hematology & Oncology Fellowship Program.
Dr. Safa is board certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology and Hematology and is an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio.
Dr. Safa has participated as an expert panelist for Community Cancer Education Day for Colorectal Cancer at the University of Cincinnati and for the Netwellness Organization. He has done numerous local and national presentations and lectures on GI Cancers including, Colorectal, Esophageal, Pancreatic and also Melanoma. Dr. Safa has been published in multiple journals and wrote multiple book chapters. He had worked extensively with the Veteran population and completed research on Hematological and Oncology issues in the Veteran population with an emphasis on Gastrointestinal Cancers.
