Kimberly Butana, APRN-CNP is a board-certified family nurse practitioner. She received her Master of Science in Nursing from Indiana Wesleyan University and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Miami University. Kimberly was trained at the R.B Turnbull, Jr MD School of Wound, Ostomy and Continence (WOC) Nursing Education at Cleveland Clinic, and is certified in Wound and Ostomy through the WOCN certification board. Prior to becoming a Kettering Health Care provider, Kimberly started her nursing career in a burn center and has been involved in inpatient, outpatient, and in-home wound and ostomy care. Kimberly has numerous memberships including the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Ohio Association of Advanced Practice Nurses, and the National Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurse Society.
Kimberly is a Dayton native and is married to Roger, and they have two small children, Warren and Eliza. When not at work, Kimberly enjoys time with her family at the Metro parks and libraries.

What is a Certified Nurse Practitioner?
A certified nurse practitioner is a licensed provider that has completed a master's or doctoral degree program and has advanced clinical training. They work in collaboration with physicians to diagnose and treat health conditions. Like physicians, they can make referrals, provide physical exams, order and interpret tests, and prescribe medications.
