Adult Intensive Outpatient Program

Adult Intensive Outpatient Program

The Adult Intensive Outpatient Program is intended for adults 18 years or older who have a primary psychiatric diagnosis of a mood or anxiety disorder. Clients are capable of independent functioning, and most work or
attend college when they are not attending the program. Clients are usually in the program for four to six weeks, and it is held on Monday, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 6-9 p.m. This program is ideal for people just discharged from inpatient programs or in some cases, as an alternative to inpatient treatment. The group treatments help participants:
• Reduce fears, anxieties and depression
• Manage anger, guilt and shame
• Curb destructive impulses and behavior
• Express thoughts and feelings
• Practice interpersonal effectiveness and communication skills
• Build structure to their days
• Manage medications through individual psychiatry sessions

Individual and family counseling is also available from a licensed clinical therapist. Every patient will be assessed by a provider during the course of treatment with medication management as appropriate. Most major insurances, Medicare, and Medicaid offer coverage for this service.
